Kelley Blackston – Owner and Behaviorist

Kelley has been training dogs for nine years. She has a masters degree in the humanities and has run Beaufort Dog boarding, training, and day care for a number of years. She has also taught at the college level for ten years.

 

 

Michael Moriera – Head Groomer and Maintenance

Michael is a native of Beaufort SC and has spent much of his life in the Lowcountry.  He loves the people in this part of the country and he works hard to exceed their expectations when they visit Beaufort Dog.  Michael proudly served his country as part of  the United States Air Force and is very proud of his Portuguese heritage.   He owns three Schnauzers, Snuffy, Abby, and Pono, a Lab named Walker, and a Dachsund named Pee-Wee.

 

 

Emma Kane – Dog Wrangler

Emma is the daughter of a US Navy Captain so as a result has grown up all over the country and abroad.  She has many interests which include photography, movies, crocheting, cooking, baking, the Chicago Cubs, her Irish heritage and of course animals.  She graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN with a degree in Intercultural Studies in 2010 so now she’s here studying the culture of dogs at Beaufort Dog.  She has a four year old collie named Bella and a 10 year old cat named Smokey.  She was a dog wrangler at Beaufort Dog for awhile from 2010 to 2011 and after a brief stint in Chicago has come back to the Beaufort Dog family!

 

Originally from a small town outside of Baltimore, Lisa has been a resident of the Lowcountry since 2005. She became a part of the Beaufort Dog family in February of 2010 after she was adopted by her best friend, Zooey, a sweet Labradoodle in much need of training. Accountant and Freelance Writer by week, Lisa spends her weekends at the Beaufort Dog playing with the dogs and leading the Agility Club.  When she’s not working, she can usually be found reading, playing one of many musical instruments, or teaching Zooey cute tricks.

 

 

 

Jason Blackston – Owner and Head Marketer

Jason is in charge of the web design and marketing for Beaufort Dog.  Before helping start Beaufort Dog, he proudly served as a Physical Education Instructor at Beaufort Academy where he also coached Varsity Girls Basketball.  He also proudly served as webmaster for The Parish Church of St. Helena for a few years.  He and Phil Hodges are responsible for starting the Sermons and Classes Podcasts.
